What Is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy healing that involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner to the client through the laying on of hands. Reiki practitioners believe that this transfer of energy can help to balance the energy of the body and promote healing.
During a Reiki session, the client typically lies down or sits comfortably, fully clothed, while the practitioner places their hands on or near the client's body. The practitioner's hands are placed in a series of specific positions, starting at the head and moving down the body. The practitioner may also hold their hands just above the body without touching it.
Reiki is believed to help reduce stress, promote relaxation, and support the body's natural healing processes. It is often used to address a wide range of physical and emotional issues, such as pain, anxiety, and insomnia.
Can Reiki Be Harmful?
Reiki is generally considered to be a safe and gentle form of energy healing. Practitioners of Reiki are trained to channel universal energy in a way that is supportive and beneficial to the client.
That being said, as with any form of therapy, it is possible that some people may have a negative reaction to Reiki. It is always important to communicate with your Reiki practitioner about any concerns or issues that you may have.
History Of Reiki
Reiki is a form of energy healing that was developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in the late 1800s. According to tradition, Usui developed the Reiki system after experiencing a spiritual awakening and receiving a special spiritual energy that he believed could be used to heal others.
Usui taught the Reiki system to others and it began to spread throughout Japan. In the early 1900s, a woman named Hawayo Takata learned Reiki in Japan and brought it to the United States, where it began to gain popularity as a complementary or alternative therapy.
Over time, the Reiki system has evolved and there are now several different schools or styles of Reiki, each with its own unique approach to the practice. Reiki is now practiced by people all over the world and is often used to support physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.
